If you visit the Maritime provinces of Canada, you’ll be bombarded with rich, scenic landscapes. Indeed, travelers from around the globe marvel at the rocky landscape of the Atlantic Coast. As you can see from the photos below, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia is particularly famous for its natural beauty. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy these lovely photos of a Canadian gem, all shot by @mel.in.nature on Instagram or on Twitter @https://twitter.com/MeLinNature?s=09

As one of Canada’s three Maritime provinces, Nova Scotia is comprised of a “mainland” peninsula, Cape Breton Island, and 3,800 other coastal islands.(New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island being the other two provinces).

Cape Breton is separated from ‘mainland’ Nova Scotia by a narrow strait, so you must drive over a causeway to get to the beautiful and culturally diverse island. Cape Breton Highlands National Park sits at the north side of the island and boasts a beautiful coastline, wide plateaus, lush forests, and abundant wildlife. Pictured above is the Skyline Trail; a seven-kilometre, looping, hiking trail in the national park.

Visitors and locals enjoy a myriad of activities on the island from camping and swimming, to hiking and rock climbing, and more!. For more information about the island (including COVID restrictions), visit cbisland.com.
