Do you love waterfalls? Well then, the next time you find yourself near the border of North and South Carolina, visit these three, recommended falls.

Within the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, you’ll discover the Wildcat Wayside Falls (Upper and Lower) as well as the Raven Cliff Falls. At 420-feet, the latter are the highest in the state! Watch the video below to learn more. (Please consider subscribing to our YouTube channel and “liking” the video.)

Considerations

Prepare for your walk to the falls. Review the safety advice of the managing land agency before you start. Stick to the trails and do not disturb wildlife. Note that rocks near falls can become very slippery. Trails may have poison ivy nearby, be buggy, and can be close to vegetation with harmful ticks. Bring bug spray and sunscreen, and keep all skin areas covered. Check for closures, conditions, hours of operation, and other information, before you start out.

  1. This is my old stomping ground! I grew up in SC and went to college at Clemson. Thanks for sharing these locations and photos. It brings back memories!
